Fate of Students still in First Semester
There are some Nigerian Universities that are still in their First semester after the outbreak of the pandemic. The University of Port Harcourt is one of such school. Due to the failure of the plans of holding an Electronic Lecture in most universities, the predictions below may likely happen;
• Continuation: This happens to be the top of the predictions because it will likely happen. Even if the universities continue from where they stopped, we believe that there will be a rush. Most likely in few weeks they will wrap up everything and prepare for exam.
• Examination at Once: Most Vice Chancellors will want to meet up with other Universities, therefore students might be forced to start exam. Since most Lectures have given the course outline to their students, they expect students cover up all before resumption on their own.
• Skipping of the Semester: This is the last choice to be taken. We understand that there are some rumors of Secondary School Students being promoted when School resumes, we haven’t confirmed this claim. But universities will be the last to do a thing like this.
• GPA for present Semester: We don’t think there will be a free point added to any GPA as a result of the Covid-19. This won’t augur well for the Educational system.
Fate of Aspiring Students
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is still trying to make universities conduct their Post UTME for the intake of new students. Have you noticed most Universities postponed their Post UTME Examination although sale of form is ongoing in some schools?
• Post UTME: Most Universities if not all will hold their Post UTME this year despite the Covid-19. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) is ongoing as at the time of writing this article. Which means despite Covid-19, Post UTME will hold.
• Will Post UTME be Difficult: This is a question that can’t be answered because all schools aren’t the same. An advise for aspirant is that use this period to read hard because WAEC Examination isn’t different from other years.
• Will there be Mass Admission: Definitely not, there will be no mass admission for new intake. It will still be based on Merit.

Fate of Public University Students
ASUU strike is still lingering, the Federal Government hasn’t come to an agreement with the Education body. Even before the Nationwide lockdown, ASUU were on strike.
This possibly means that even if School should resume today, Public universities students will still be forced to stay at home because ASUU might still be on strike. The only remedy at the moment is Minister of Education and Minister of Labour and Works seeing reasons with this Body.
Fate of Private University Students
They are the least affected, some of them had a Telecommunication class via Zoom during this pandemic. Also, about 70 Private universities in Nigeria are already ready to resume session. They are not affected by ASUU strike therefore they are good to go.
